A PERSON was taken to hospital after a van caught fire in Hereford today (Saturday, October 7).
Emergency services were called to Roman Road, opposite the Volkwsagen car garage, at just after 11.55am.
The fire led to a large plume of smoke billowing in the sky, with many people reporting seeing it from various parts of the city.

In a Facebook post, Hereford & Fire and Rescue Sercice's Control Room said it responded to numerous 999 calls reporting a vehicle fire on the A4103 Roman Road in Hereford.
It added that the fire involved a large van that was well alight, with one casualty conveyed to hospital by ambulance.
The railway bridge was closed while emergency services dealt with the incident.
