A NEW Hereford school is working with local business to offer vital work experience to pupils. The Robert Owen Vocational School, which opens in September, has teamed up with 180 local businesses to help students gain work experience in the horticultural industry.

A LETTERPRESS printer is celebrating after being awarded £15,000 from the Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST). Anneliese Appleby, from Pontshill, near Ross-on-Wye, was presented with the prize by Jenifer Emery, president of the Royal Warrant Holders Association, at the London Hilton Hotel.

A HEREFORDSHIRE director has been honoured by the Institute of Directors at a presentation ceremony in Edgbaston. Mike Bound, construction director at Herefordshire oak frame building company Border Oak, has been awarded director of the year in the family business category.
