A MAN was taken to hospital after a serious crash on a busy road in Hereford last night (Saturday).
It is understood that the man - who is believed to be aged around 60 - was airlifted to hospital after his moped was in collision with a car on Ross Road, between Asda and the Broadleys pub.
At 6.39pm, National Highways - West Midlands tweeted that the A49 was closed in both directions between the A465 and the B4399 due to a serious collision involving a car and a motorcycle.

Reports on social media stated that the air ambulance was called to the scene, and a man was taken to hospital.
Shortly afterwards, National Highways said that 'due to the nature of the incident, the road is expected to be closed for the remainder of the day'.
However, by 9.55pm it was reopened with the incident fully resolved.
