THE junior supporters of Hereford United have been interviewing players and rubbing shoulders with dignitaries from the city council.

The Hereford United Junior Bulls have been a huge success since their revival earlier this year.

They invited the Mayor and Mayoress of Hereford to join them for the last home game, against Stockport County, together with members of Hereford City Council.

The junior supporters have received a grant from the city council towards computer equipment to help with the running of the organisation “We invited them as guests as a thank-you and to help promote the Kick Racism out of Football - One Game, One Community campaign,” said Junior Bulls organiser Luke Powell.

At half-time, the dignitaries watched a penalty shoot-out that took place on the pitch to help promote the campaign.

Youngsters entered a competition, which was advertised in the matchday programme, to win a place in the shoot-out.

Joseph Lynham, Tom Skittery, Lewis Rawle and Gavin Smith took part in the competition which was won by Thomas Rawle, who beat William Woodward in a play-off.

Each member was presented with a medal, while Thomas was also given a signed Hereford United football.

Before the game two members, Olivia Bufton and Oliver Merrick, interviewed United striker Steve Guinan.

Olivia had sent a letter to the Junior Bulls suggesting interviews between members and a Hereford player for use in the club’s newsletter.

The members quizzed Guinan on a range of subjects.

The Junior Bulls want to thank Savills who have supplied new kit for their ball boys and ball girls.

Children aged under 16 years can join the supporters’ club.

Members are entered into draws for the chance to become a ball boy and ball girl.

Membership forms are available by e-mailing juniorbulls@bullsonline.co.uk, calling 01981 251762 or visiting the Hereford United website.
