LUCTONIANS Under-15 rugby side celebrated the end of their season with their sponsors. The players thanked local businessmen Ken Watkins (KWJ) and John Price (John Price Potatoes) for their support at their squad training session, and invited them to join them in their commemorative squad photograph.
This season has seen an improved win rate but more importantly the development of every player. Working with qualified coaches, the players have improved their core skills and fitness levels, and their understanding of team play and tactics.
This has been externally recognised with nine players in the county squad and three invited to the selection process to represent North Midlands in the national 10s competition.
The successful squad is: Jake Acaster, Josh Barand, Alex Beaumont, Giles Bilbrough, Will Brandon, Rob Bridges, Dan Cristie, John Crook, James Fuller, Nicky Griffiths, Haydyn Jancey, Matt Johnson, Aaron Jones, Richard Jones, Jack Lander, Ashley Lawrence, PJ Muldowney, Jack Owen, Marcus Rocke, Alex Sherwood, Andrew Thomas, Steve Thomas, James Varden, George Withers, Jan Beaumont (manager), Graham Tate (coach) and Andy Varden (assistant coach).
