DAVID Park gained a top-25 place when the first PGA European Tour event of 2007 got underway with the inaugural Joberg Open at the Royal Johannesburg and Kensington Club, South Africa.
The Herefordshire professional finished with a seven-under 278 - 12 shots behind winner Ariel Canette - for joint 24th place and 10,250 euros in prize money.
Park started with a fine 65 but slipped to 71, followed by 69 and a last-round 73.
The victory was Argentinian Canett's first on the European Tour and his 266 total was 19 under.
