HEREFORD boss Graham Turner sprang something of a surprise by handing Sam Gwynne a first League 1 start against Brighton & Hove Albion at the Withdean Stadium.
Gwynne got the nod ahead of Ben Smith to replace the suspended Stephen O’Leary.
Clint Easton also earned a recall and was expected to play in central midfield alongside Toumani Diagouraga.
Hereford: Randolph; Jackson, N’Gotty, Broadhurst, Rose; Gwynne, Diagouraga, Easton, Taylor; Williams, Guinan. Subs not used: Samson, Beckwith, Hudson-Odoi, Smith, Chadwick.
Brighton: Kuipers, Whing, El-Abd, Cox, Thomson, Richards, Hawkins, Murray, Virgo, Anyinsah, Savage. Subs not used: Thornton, McLeod, Livermore, Robinson, Fraser.
