TWO superb individual performances finally banished any lingering fears Eastnor may have had about relegation from the Birmingham League Division Two in a thrilling win over Attock.

Eastnor slumped to 16-5 but Shahid Ahmed held the remainder of the innings together to reach an unbeaten 109 in a total of 190-7 from 55 overs.

Shahid took three catches in the Attock response but the home side seemed set for victory with 10 needed from the final three overs with four wickets in hand. Atiq Ur Rehman finished with 7-39 and ran out the last man as Eastnor won by three runs.

Brockhampton remain fifth in the Premier Division after a losing draw at home to Shrewsbury and will wind up their season with a trip to prospective champions Walsall on Saturday.

Chris Boroughs (3-97) and Dave Exall (3-40) starred as Shrewsbury reached 220-9. Boroughs (45) and Henry Langford (38) batted the villagers into contention but the match ended with final pair Chris Powell (32 not out) and skipper Owen Price (0no) holding on. Bromyard ’s late rally in Division One of the Worcestershire County League took them up to third place.

Eral Anderson (76no) and Dinusha Fernando (75no) starred in a final day eight-wicket win over Redditch.

Burghill & Tillington won at Netherton on the final day to seal third place in Division Two.
