BURGHILL batsman Alex Hedges has set a new record for the highest number of runs in a Worcestershire County League Division 2 season.

The New Zealander has hit five fifties and six centuries to set a new Division 2 record of 1,180 runs with two league matches remaining.

He has broken the record of 1,140 runs which had been set by former Black Caps star Daniel Flynn while playing for Barnards Green in 2005.
