Goodrich remain among GB Liners Marches League title challengers

GOODRICH remain in contention at the top of the GB Liners Marches League after a seven-wicket success over Dales.

Andy Brown (85) and Sam Griffiths (51) shared a stand of 101 for the second wicket as the south Herefordshire chased down their target with more than 10 overs left.

Earlier, Kevin Smith (65 not out) and Nick Palmer (62) had batted well in Dales’ innings of 199-4.

Leaders Garnons’match at Builth Wells fell victim to the weather while Bartestree & Lugwardine suffered weather-related frustration when they had Crickhowell struggling at 114-7 when the rain set in.

Reigning champions Luctonians were beaten by the bottom two sides, Glangrwyney and Kington , in successive days. Kington had been beaten by one wicket by Weobley .

With Talgarth beaten and Marden rained off, Shobdon took advantage by closing the gap at the top of Division 2 with a six-wicket win over Almeley.

And, in Division 3, former Herefordshire all-rounder Phil Hunt showed his skills are still intact with 81 not out and 3-37 as Brockhampton 3rd stayed top of Division 3 with a 25-run win over Bartestree & Lugwardine 2nd.
