HEREFORD Ladies go into the Christmas break in buoyant mood after securing a 2-2 draw against flyers Team Bath Buccaneers 2nd in West Clubs' Women's League Premier Division 2A.
Team Bath went into the game top of the league, but could not dispose of a resilient Hereford side, who scored twice from Erica Rogers.
Ali Preece was player of the match and the result leaves Hereford Ladies fourth in the table after nine games.
There was also joy for Hereford Men's, who stormed back from 4-0 down to beat Bristol University 3rd 6-4 in De Cymru and The Marches 1.
The home side scored four unanswered goals in the first 20 minutes, but Hereford re-grouped and reduced the arrears through two strikes from Andy Rogers and one from Tom Clarke before half-time.
The second half continued with good play and Hereford secured the win with two goals from Stew Goodarzi and one from Hamish Cameron.
Robbie Goodman scored twice as Leominster came from behind to beat Bristol side Firebrands 2nd in Davis Wood Hockey League Conference North.
Leominster were back to full strength and played some patient hockey to dominate the early proceedings.
But it was Firebrands who opened the scoring through a well-worked counter-attack down the right that resulted in a deflected goal.
Leominster equalised straight from the off at the start of the second half when Goodman finished well after finding himself in space.
Despite a number of penalty corners for Firebrands, Leominster defended well and kept the pressure on.
They were then rewarded when Goodman scored his second goal of the game to secure the win.
