LAST Saturday's Herefordshire League Division One clash between Weobley and Holme Lacy was preceded by a minute’s silence for Weobley legend, Lew Jones.

“He was a big character in the community – heavily involved in the football club and the cricket club and everybody in the village knew who he was,” said Weobley’s Lee Davies.

“He was a really top bloke. He used to come and watch every home game and he’ll certainly be missed.

“The minute’s silence was to respect him and what he has done for the club and the area,” added Davies.
