PLANS to build wind turbines at New Radnor have been turned down by Powys County Council.

At a planning meeting on Tuesday, councillors followed officers’ recommendations and refused REG Windpower permission to put three 103-metre tall turbines on land at Pentre Tump.

A similar application was turned down in 2010 on the grounds it would impact on public rights of way and be unsightly.
