A ROSS-on-Wye charity is celebrating Volunteers' Week this week.
Hope Support Services, which consists of volunteers aged between 14 and 25, helps young people cope when a family member is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.
“It’s a brilliant way to spend your time,” said Hope’s youth management team (Y-team) chair Ben Ray.
“I spend about one to three hours a week helping at Hope and more if I fancy getting involved in the fun events they attend throughout the county.”
The volunteers meet every month to organise their own events and even manage their own bank account.
Vice-chair Jemma Williams, aged 16, said that she got involved after members of her family were diagnosed with cancer.
“I wanted to give something back to Hope after all they have helped me with,” she said.
“People should volunteer because you never know what is around the corner in life.
“It’s a very beneficial and rewarding thing to do.”
