FUTURE generations of Bromyard youngsters could spend their school lives on one site. The idea of an “all-through” school for three to 16 year olds was raised at a public meeting on Tuesday night.
More than 350 people packed the Queen Elizabeth Humanities College to hear how Bromyard could save its secondary education.
The QE was targeted for a merger with Leominster’s all-new Minster College in Herefordshire Council’s recent schools review.
Though the review has been withdrawn, many in the town fear that the long-term threat to the QE and its cluster primaries has not gone away.
Addressing the meeting, independent schools consultant Barry Bainbridge raised the idea of an all-through school. It was something many rural communities wanted to try.
