A HEREFORDSHIRE cider producer has looked down under to expand its international business.
Westons Cider, based in Much Marcle, has bought Australian drinks distributor World Brands Australia (WBA) which has already been distributing its brands into the Australian market.
The Australian cider market is growing in volume and value and the WBA has been instrumental in placing Westons Cider at the forefront of this growth.
The purchased company will be renamed Westons World Brands (WWB).
Roger Jackson, Westons Cider’s commercial director, will become WWB’s managing director while maintaining his current role at Westons Cider in the UK.
"The purchase of World Brands Australia will ensure Westons Cider has a strong and sustainable platform to fully invest in the fast growing Australian cider market and realise the potential of Westons’ portfolio of cider brands," said Mr Jackson.
