Man in serious condition following accident along A44 yesterday

A MAN in his early 60s is in a serious condition in hospital following an accident yesterday.

The A44 at Frome Bridge was closed off for several hours after emergency services were called just before 2.25pm to find one vehicle, a Ford KA, that had been in collision with metal railings at the edge of the bridge.

The man was taken to Worcestershire Royal Hospital where he remains in a serious but stable condition, according to Chris Ammonds, a press officer for West Mercia Police.

Mr Ammonds added that the “driver may have fallen ill at the wheel prior to the accident”.
