BOSSES at Hereford College of Arts are looking at taking over one of the main buildings at the Royal National College for the Blind (RNC) campus.
It was revealed in May that, due to student numbers dropping, RNC is looking to move parts of its operation from the main building off College Road to Gardner Hall and the new Point4 centre off Venns Lane.
There will be redundancies.
This week Hereford College of Arts (HCA) confirmed it is interested in taking over RNC’s main building.
HCA’s main campus is in Folly Lane, but it also has a media centre site in Bath Street and a Higher Education Centre on Whitecross Road.
There are no plans to close either of these sites at the moment.
HCA marketing manager Kate La Barre told the Hereford Times : “There is an awful lot that needs to be thrashed out, but we are very interested in their buildings because they are closer to Folly Lane and it would mean we could move our students from town to there.”
