Woman injured after being involved in a collision with a van in Hereford

AN elderly woman was in collision with a van in Hereford city centre this morning.

The accident happened in St Peter's Square, near the Post Office, at around 9.45am.

She ended up under the van, but her injuries are not thought to be serious.

The woman was taken to Hereford County Hospital for further assessment.

"Crews were called to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a van," said ambulance spokesperson Suzie Fothergill.

“On arrival at the scene crews found an elderly woman trapped underneath a van.

"Crews worked closely with the fire service to release the woman from underneath the vehicle.

“The pedestrian was assessed at the scene and was found to have no obvious injuries."
