A HEREFORDSHIRE charity has been boosted by £13,000 thanks to Jo Brand.

The comedian – who recently made the final of BBC’s Let’s Dance for Comic Relief – put on a one-night performance for Megan Baker House at Worcester Warriors Rugby Club. It was attended by more than 500 people.

Ms Brand said she was pleased to help a smaller charity that receives no statutory funding.

“There is always immense support for the larger charities and it’s incredibly rewarding to work with a charity like Megan Baker House, which helps children and adults to learn or regain independence,” she said.

The charity helps children and adults with cerebral palsy and Parkinson’s disease and those who have suffered a stroke, brain damage or head injury.
