A COMMUNITY bid to improve Sunday trade in a market town has been declared a success.

Bromyard’s first Sunday car boot sale attracted dozens of bargain hunters.

Event organisers hope the sale will now take place on the first Sunday of each month.

Town Councillor Gary Swinford – who is also behind a slogan competition for the town – was happy with the turnout.

“We were more than happy with the response to the boot sale, both from sellers and buyers,” he said.

“From the interest so far, I’d expect an even better turn-out in the future.”

He added that organisers were also planning “something really special” for the Christmas Lights switch-on on November 22.
