AN elderly woman has had her bag snatched in Hereford.

The victim was approached by a male as she walked through the alleyway between Ryelands Street and Sainsbury’s car park at around 10.20am on Tuesday.

The male snatched the bag she was carrying and ran off up the alley, turning left into Ryelands Street in the direction of Breinton Road.

The male is described as white, 16 to 18-years-old, 5 foot 10 inches tall, of medium build with short brown hair. He was wearing a blue tracksuit.

Detective Sergeant Tim Powell, of Hereford CID, said: “This type of crime is extremely rare in Hereford and we intend to keep it that way.

“That is why we are concentrating all our efforts to locate the individual responsible for this.”
