EMERGENCY resurfacing work has been completed on the A49 after a serious crash closed the busy main road yesterday.
The road was closed all day on May 9 after police, firefighters, paramedics, and the air ambulance were called to the scene shortly before 7am.
A diversion route was in place through the day after the crash at Ashton, between Leominster and Woofferton, which involved a van and a motorbike.

An ambulance service spokesperson said yesterday morning that an ambulance, a BASICS emergency doctor and the Midland Air Ambulance from Cosford attended the scene.

The motorcyclist was found to have "potentially life-threatening injuries" and was taken to Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital by air ambulance after receiving advanced trauma care at the scene.
The driver and passenger of the van were assessed and had sustained injuries not believed to be serious. They were takento Hereford County Hospital by land ambulance for further assessment.
National Highways said last night that the A49 would need to remain closed for emergency resurfacing work after the crash.
The road reopened to traffic just before 1am this morning, National Highways said.
