The court heard from the prosecution that the 30-year-old, who is the director of Construction and Maintenance Solutions Ltd, had failed to deliver a confirmation statement before the end of a 14-day period after the end of a review period on February 2, contrary to Companies Act 2006 regulations.
Ellis, of Bridge Street, Kington, was fined £220 for the offence.
He was also ordered to pay prosecution costs of £75 and an £88 victim surcharge, which is used to help fund services supporting victims of crime.
