AN AWARD-winning Herefordshire home care company is celebrating the appointment of a local lady whose personal experience with home care has inspired her to join the team.
It was after Home Instead Hereford cared for her grandmother, that Deb Evans, who is a nurse, saw first-hand the level of care provided.
She said: “Home Instead cared for my grandmother June from June 2021 to September 2022 while she was living with dementia. It only took a phone call for them to understand exactly what she needed, and being a nurse myself, this gave me a huge sense of assurance.”
“Home Instead did a fantastic job caring for my grandmother and supporting us as her family too. This first-hand experience of Home Instead made it a really appealing organisation to be part of and joining their Healthcare at Home team meant I could use all the skills I already have as a nurse, but within the homes of my clients where they are more comfortable, as opposed to a hospital environment.”
Owner and director of Home Instead Hereford, Natalie Cooke, said: “It’s great to have Deb on board as part of our Healthcare at Home team, she brings with her a vast amount of nursing experience but also the knowledge of what it’s like to be on the other side, as a client’s family member.
"We are proud to have delivered such a standard of care that Deb felt driven to become part of it too, providing the same experience to other families.”
