FIREFIGHTERS were called to Widemarsh Common last night following reports that a cricket pavilion was alight.

Two pumps from Hereford Fire Station were called to the playing field off Grandstand Road around 11.30pm, but it turned out to be a small amount of rubbish on fire at the front of the building.

Police were also called to the scene.
