NATIONAL chain Screwfix has confirmed its plan to open a fourth shop in Herefordshire.
Last week, jobs advertised on the firm's website suggested it was looking to open another shop in Herefordshire, in addition to those already in Hereford, Ledbury and Ross-on-Wye.
Screwfix, which sells trade tools, accessories and hardware products, has been looking to hire an assistant manager, retail supervisor, trade supervisor and retail assistant in Bromyard.
Hours vary between 16 and 37.5 hours a week, with salaries up to £24k.
Now, a spokesperson for the chain, owned by Kingfisher PLC which is the company behind B&Q, said it would be opening the shop in Bromyard later this year.
It did not give a date or location of where the shop would be, but said: "We are delighted to bring Screwfix closer to even more customers and look forward to welcoming busy tradespeople to our new store in Bromyard, Herefordshire, later this year.
"As we continue to grow our store network we will announce details about each new store, including planned dates for opening, in due course."
Earlier this year, Screwfix, announced its target of 80 new shops across the UK and the Republic of Ireland, creating more than 800 new jobs by the end of January 2023.
Screwfix's overall target is 1,000 stores across the UK and Republic of Ireland.
It marked a milestone of 800 shops when it open a new site in Bourton-on-the-Water in Gloucestershire this year.
