A HEREFORDSHIRE businessman is celebrating good news for Young Enterprise (YE).

John King, chair of the organisation in Herefordshire, says he is honoured that YE has been awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Volunteering Award.

“This is recognition for all the hard work and support put in by the thousands of companies who support YE, and the time, energy and generosity of the 5,000 dedicated volunteers who give their time to help young people acquire the employability skills needed to succeed at work, or to become the next generation of entrepreneurs," said John.

He paid tribute to those companies and councils which provide monetary support to Herefordshire schools and colleges involved in the YE programme.
