A DRINK-DRIVER has been banned from the roads after she was caught out on a Herefordshire road while almost three times the limit.

Kerry Davenport entered a guilty plea to one count of driving while over the alcohol limit when she appeared before magistrates in Hereford last month.

The court heard from prosecutor Lauren Millichip that the 43-year-old had been caught out in Brampton Road in Ross-on-Wye after getting behind the wheel of a white Fiat Punto while over the limit in February.

A breath test revealed that she had 102 microgrammes of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath. The limit is 35.

Davenport, of Vaga Crescent, Ross-on-Wye, was disqualified from driving for 24 months. Magistrates took her guilty plea into account when coming to their decision on her penalty.

She was handed a community order lasting for 12 months, in which she must attend up to 15 days of rehabilitation activity with a probation officer.

She has the opportunity to reduce her ban by 24 weeks if she completes a drink-drive awareness course.
