WESTFIELDS are up to seventh in the Midland Football League Premier Division table thanks to a fine 2-1 away win at Kirby Muxloe.

Played in almost summer-like conditions, Westfields produced the more skilful football and deservedly went ahead in the 24th minute.

Good interplay involving the industrious Matt Reeve released Tom Boyle, who expertly beat Kirby Muxloe's goalkeeper with a low drive.

The home side equalised moments later with a very well taken goal.

A precise pass cut open the Westfields defence, allowing an attacking play to run on to the ball and unleash an unstoppable shot from the edge of the area.

But it was Westfields who scored again when Joel Edwards made an excellent run down the left-hand side and delivered a pin-point cross for Luke Corbett to head home.

Westfields spurned several chances in the second half, while restricting the home side to only two opportunities.

Josh Poole made his debut for Sean Edwards' team and put in an impressive performance, while James Febrey, Edwards, Jamie Cuss and Reeve also excelled.
