But in stoppage-time, Alex Lawless bagged the seventh after Lloyd-Weston could only parry a Henry free-kick.


He should have had four seconds later but blazed the chance into the side-netting.


Eight minutes from the end, substitute Dom Collins  is out-done done the right and Gray converts the cross to complete his hat-trick.


Hereford win a free-kick 25 yards out on 74 minutes but Brown’s curling shot drifts past an upright.


Midway through the half, Luton get a fifth when Edge loses the ball in midfield and Gray races away for his second of the afternoon.


With Luton now running riot, on the hour Mpanzu scores from 12 yards after good set-up work by Gutteridge.


But it’s three on 55 minutes when James is late with his challenge on Mpanzu in the area and Howells scores from the spot.


Leadbitter does well to lock off Howells  when the midfielder makes a dangerous run into the box.


Gray then gets past Sharp too easily and his cross is fisted behind by Lloyd-Weston.
This time the flag-kick finds Benson and he puts the ball into the back of the net.


Luton win an early corner in the second half but Howells’ cross is headed over by Benson.


Luton win a corner in first-half stoppage time. Gutteridge sends in the cross and Benson at the far post heads wide.


McGeehan earns a yellow card for a foul on Brown and, from the free-kick, the ball falls to McDonald who lifts a shot just over.


But Luton look far more threatening in attack and Gray sears into the area before smashing a shot high over.


A dangerous attack sees Walker send Brown away with the midfielder’s cross put behind for a corner.
Walker plays the ball short to Edge whose poor cross is easily cleared.


At the other end, a cross from Rankine lands on top of the bar and bounces over.


Lloyd-Weston makes a good save when veteran Paul Benson races through into a shooting position.


Luton have some space on the right when Bush dives into a challenge and misses but Gray’s cross goes through the area and wide.


Sharp cuts inside as the Bulls respond but sends his shot high over.


Luton take the lead on 12 minutes after a mistake by Lloyd-Weston.
The keeper spills Cameron McGeehan’s shot at Gray’s feet and he scores easily.


It’s Hereford, though, who force the first corner through Chris Sharp. Dan Walker’s cross flashes through the goalmouth and out of play.


Gray misses a great chance when he stabs a Howells cross over from three yards out.


Gutteridge tries to blunder his way through for the Hatters in the opening seconds but Rod McDonald stands in his way.

With Luton making a good start, skipper Luke Graham has to clear from near the goal-line as Gray fires in a low shot.

Bulls boss Martin Foyle is without midfielder Frankie Artus due to injury bringing a return for Dan Walker, an ex-Luton player.
Danny Leadbitter returns at right-back in place of Dom Collins, who drops to the bench, where he joined by Cory Williams, who last week was signed on pro forms for next season.
