Hereford force a couple of corners in the closing minutes but the elusive goal simply will not come.
Jennings, however, misses an even better chance at the other end when he heads wide from a corner.
Hereford, however, continue to seek the equaliser and a fine solo run from Walker ends with a shot wide of the target.
Twelve minutes from the end, Hereford’s task was made even harder when Smith was shown a red card, seemingly for the use of an elbow.
Hereford miss a great chance on 75 minutes when Bush heads over from just five yards out.
Brodie does test Taylor on 73 minutes with a deflected effort which he field comfortably.
Foyle brings on Sharp and Brodie in an attempt to fire up the Bulls attack which has yet to muster an on-target shot.
Hereford concede a corner on 61 minutes and it brings the first goal.
Evans decides to punch but his effort is weak and Jennings shoots into the top corner of the net.
Walker is beginning to use his pace down the right and forces a third corner for the Bulls.
Although the ball is cleared, Hereford continue to attack and Leadbitter is brought down on the right flank, bringing a free-kick in a dangerous position.
The cross from Brown flashes across the six-yard box and is put out for a throw-in.
Jack Mackreth then tries his luck with a cross-shot which flashes across goal and narrowly wide.
Hereford hit back and Walker forces a corner on 56 minutes.
Graham gets his head to Brown’s cross but the Town defence make the clearance.
Macclesfield respond by forcing a corner of their own on 53 minutes. Danny Whitaker’s cross picks out Paul Turnbull but he is unable to keep his header down.

Macclesfield are pressing forward and Andrew Halls is the next to try his luck, sending a shot wide from an acute angle.
Bush gives the ball away on 23 minutes and sends Holroyd away to be brought down unfairly by Luke Graham who gets a yellow card.
Hereford resume the attack but Gwynne wastes an opportunity, sending a shot swerving wide from long distance.
