LUCTONIANS came unstuck against a National League 2 North leaders Caldy, going down 39-21.

Caldy dominated early territory and possession, which should have resulted in a couple of tries, but poor finishing let them down.

Louis Silver was once again prolific with the boot for Lucs and his three penalties pushed the Kingsland side into an early lead.

But Caldy soon took control .

On the 20-minute mark, Tom Concu went over from a driving maul, which was followed by a JJ Dickinson try.

With only five minutes left of the first half, Nick Royle scored the first of his two tries and with Jack Lavin converting all three tries, Caldy threatened to run away with the game.

Royle extended their lead with a superb try, the winger blitzing through the Lucs defence to score.

Lucs rallied in the second half and scored tried through Joe White and Aiden Cheshire, but two a penalties and a converted try sealed the bonus point win for Caldy.

Bromyard though have made a great start in Midlands 4 West (South) and won their fifth win in a row thanks to a 17-8 victory at Coventry Welsh.

Prop Rob Legge scored early on for Bromyard after a period of sustained pressure, with Toby Rivers converting.

Hooker Sam Sayce then finished off a line out move to score before Coventry Welsh hit back with a penalty.

The home side then scored a try in the second half, but Jarrod Kidston made sure of the victory for Bromyard.

Ledbury overcame Evesham 19-8 in Midlands 3 West (South).

Arron Almond opened the scoring for Ledbury with an early try, which George Bennion converted, before Evesham landed a penalty.

The away side then went in front after the break, before Ledbury responded with a Matt Hallett try.

Almond sealed the win with his second try, with Bennion again converting.

Ross-on-Wye fell to a 26-3 defeat to Old Elizabethans in Gloucester 2.
