BROMYARD are still in contention for promotion from Midlands 4 West (North) following a 17-10 win against Aston Old Edwardians.

Forwards James Leighton and Jamie Gibbons led the way with tries in the first half, before Tom Gallagher extended Bromyard's lead after the break with another touchdown.

Aston reduced the arrears with two tries, but Bromyard held on to record the win.

Ledbury have also kept their promotion hopes alive in Midlands 3 West (South) after a comfortable 24-0 win against Harbury.

A serious injury to a Warley player led to Greyhound's match in Midlands 5 West (North) being abandoned with 15 minutes to go.

No points had been scored when the game was halted and the result will stand.

The following day, Greyhound Ladies claimed a narrow 5-3 win against Hucclecote thanks to a try by Carly Went.
