LUCTONIANS director of rugby Alex Davidson believes the errors his team are making are fixable as they succumbed to their second successive defeat against Harrogate.

The Mortimer Park side were in the game for large parts of the game but individual errors led to the away side eventually winning 27-18.

Lucs will be hoping to gain their first win of the season when they travel to Leicester Lions this Saturday before hosting Huddersfield at the end of the month.

"Myself and Stuart Bemand [head coach] missed the first game due to a family wedding so I looked at Saturday's game to see where we were at and it was not as bad as I feared," said Davidson.

"In general open play, we matched them and were equal at half-time.

"But we made a lot of individual errors but these are things that are easily resolved.

"We've got young numbers nine and 10 in Sam Boxhall and Tom Jones, but they need time to develop quickly.

"But of course, two losses out of two is disappointing."

Lucs, who handed a debut to South African-Austrian second row forward Sebastian Freydell, opened their account with a Johnny Morris penalty before Sam Bottomley went over for Harrogate.

Dan Smith and Danny Matthews then scored tries for their respective sides before Lucs regained the lead after the break through Morris' boot.

But Harrogate took the game away from Lucs with Lewis Minikin adding 12 points.

A converted Jordan Street try was merely a consolation for the home side.
