Roger Wooley, Dave Smith, Tony Catchpole and Graham Hodgson were second after they also fired 59.2.

Paul Bufton and Kevin Goodall carded 45 points to win the club’s latest Winter League competition.

Pete James and Andy Lambert were second with 43 points, while Neil Lloyd and Lee Bright were third with 41 points.

q Brian McDonnell and Brian Vaughan fired 51 points to win a seniors’ Greensome Pairs’ Stableford in wet conditions at Burghill Valley GC.

Les Herbert and Jef Kramer were second with 50 points, while Brian Blower and Mike Wilde were third with 49 points.

Joan Dukes fired 88-13-75 to win the Division 1 section of Burghill Valley Ladies’ January Medal.

Christine Baldwin (94-16-78) was second and third place went to Rebecca Lloyd (96-17-79).

Jennifer Wildman (101-23-78) was second, while Ann Allen (102-23-79) finished third.

q Chris Connolly was a clear winner, with 40 points, in Cradoc GC’s latest Winter Stableford.

He was followed by Gary Jenkins, who took second place on a countback from third-placed Mike Hares and fourth-placed Mike Powell.

q Richard Francis triumphed in Leominster GC’s Sunday Stableford after a return of 39 points.

Roger Barrington was second on a countback from third-placed Dave Botwood after both players carded 37 points.

Kevin Green also fired 37 points but finished fourth.

Greg Bridges and Gillian Sandell carded 41 points to win the third round of the mixed section’s Winter Accumulator.

Wendy and Mark Lane (38 points) were second, with Pauline and Terry Webb (34 points) taking third spot.

q Herefordshire will be hosting two charity golf days for the British Orthopaedic Association.

Ross-on-Wye GC and Burghill Valley GC are hosting events on May 14 and August 12, respectively.

John Hunt and Annie Price were winners of the two Hippie Golfing Society meetings in Herefordshire last year.

The society celebrates its 30th anniversary this year and, for the first time, will include entries from members with knee replacements.
