A HEREFORD Sixth Form College student has celebrated his strong debut season in the Novice Championship of the BRSCC Mighty Minis series with a brace of sponsorship deals.

The eighteen-year-old's impressive first season in motorsport came just months after passing his driving test with the new deals helping secure his place on the grid for the 2016 season.

His driving talent saw him finish seventh overall in the series championship as well as capturing the title for best new driver.

He has now announced that caterers Aspens Services will be joining his team next year with the company's logo set to adorn his blue and white 1275cc Mini.

"I am delighted to start this partnership with Aspens," said Young.

"Obviously, there is a connection for me because they cater for my college, but I also appreciate the fact that they are a company with a strong ethical message - supporting sustainable farming and compassionate food production.

"I think these are important considerations when you are out looking for sponsorship, and looking to promote a positive message at the same time."

Young has been working closely with three road safety charities – RoSPA (Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents), BRAKE and The ELY Memorial Fund – to help them promote their message of responsible driving,

Aspens director, John Roe, said he has demonstrated "tremendous dedication and social responsibility" through the 'drive safe' campaign.

The second sponsor to join his team next year is city-based gym Sixth Sense Fitness.

"It's fantastic to have Sixth Sense on board as well," said Young.

"I can’t pretend that racing Minis demands the fitness of a Lewis Hamilton, but it fits with my interests and that’s what makes a good sponsor match I think."
