BYTON trainer Richard Lee could have a fighting chance of running well in opening day of the Cheltenham Festival.

Knock a Hand recently won at Carlisle and shows he has good heart.

But he could have competition from fellow Herefordshire trainer Venetia Williams. Her horse Tenor Nivernais could run well after an encouraging run last time out, and is hinting at a return to form. The meeting takes place on Tuesday at the start of the four-day festival.

It culminates with the Gold Cup next Friday, which will see Williams' Houblon des Obeaux. Punters will be able to get expert advice on who to pick at the Castle House in Hereford this Sunday.

Top tipster Sam Turner, also known as Robin Goodfellow, and racing correspondent Marcus Townend will join top jockeys Tom Scudamore and Aidan Coleman to cast their eye over the festival at Castle House Hotel from 7pm.

Chaired by Peter Scudamore, the panel will provide punters with the very latest tips on the runners and riders. Tickets are £35, which includes a glass of Butty Bach or house wine on arrival and two-course dinner.
