HEREFORD Rowing Club's women's veteran B coxed four were victorious at the prestigious Henley Veteran Regatta, retaining the title for the second year running.

The crew of Clare Fenton, Alex Look, Veronica Preedy, Helen Phillips and cox Robin Morris cruised through their semi-final against a York City/Grosvenor composite to set up a final against a Sons of the Thames/Furnival composite crew.

Despite the strong blustery winds on the 1,000-metres upstream course, the crew pulled out a substantial lead by the halfway mark and comfortably completed the rest of the course in fine style to take the sought-after medals.

The Hereford crew had already won the National Veterans' title in June.
