LEOMINSTER came crashing back down to earth after beating Hereford by getting thrashed 7-1 at home to Team Bath Buccaneers 3rds.

The visitors opened the scoring through a drag flick, which took a big deflection of a Leominster defender.

Bath continued to press in an attempt to double their advantage, but Leominster held firm and went into the break just one goal behind.

But it was a different story in the second half, with a flurry of quick goals putting the game to bed.

Leominster pulled a goal back through Robbie Goodman, but Bath responded with more goals to seal a heavy defeat for the home side.

Nine-man Hereford also came unstuck against Whitchurch 2nd in the same division, losing 2-1.

John Morgan put Hereford ahead, but the away side were hampered when defender Giles Stokes left the pitch with a hamstring injury after 20 minutes.

Whitchurch equalised with a penalty corner before half-time and won the game with five minutes left after Daiyle Door also sustained an injury.

Both Hereford and Leominster's second teams faced each other at Hereford Leisure Centre in The Marches 1 and it was Hereford who came out on top, comfortably winning 4-1.

Elsewhere, Ross-on-Wye slipped to a 2-1 defeat to Wotton-under-Edge in De Cymru & The Marches 2, but their second team hammered Cleevillians 2nds 9-0 in The Marches 2.
