HEREFORD have moved into closer order at the top of Davis Wood League De Cymru and Marches 1 with a 3-1 win over leaders Wotton-under-Edge.

Second-placed Hereford now trail by just a point after inflicting the first defeat of the season on the table-toppers.

Hereford 2nd did not fare so well, however, against their Wotton counterparts, going down 2-0 in Marches 1.

Leominster, meanwhile, have slipped to ninth place in Conference North after a 3-1 reverse at second-placed Newent.

And, in De Cymru and Marches 2, Ross' run of three wins came to a halt when they were beaten 3-1 at home by Aberystwyth University.

Ross 2nd have slipped back to the foot of the Marches 2 table after a 7-2 reverse at Winchcombe.

Good work by player of the match Clare Annett was unable to prevent Hereford 2nd from a 4-1 home defeat by Cheltenham 3rd in West Clubs' Women's League Severn 1.

Cheltenham took an early lead and extended their advantage at the start of the second period before Tia Taylor combined well with Lucy Debenham to reduce arrears.

Despite good work by Annett, Alice Steel and Deri Horan, Cheltenham scored twice more to seal their win.
