HEREFORD opened their home programme in De Cymru and Marches 1 of the Davis Wood League with a conclusive 7-3 home win over Cirencester.

Hereford fell behind to a short corner in the early stages but equalised through Danny Makaruk and then went ahead through Andy Rogers and Tom Clarke.

Colin Amos scored again, in between two Cirencester goals to leave the score at 4-3 at the interval.

Rogers and Hamish Cameron extended the lead in the second half before Charlie Jones finished off a fine move for the goal of the game.

In Conference North, Leominster won their first home match in convincing style, seeing off Bristol UWE 2nd 4-0 but, in Marches 1, Leominster 2nd were on the wrong end of a similar scoreline at Cheltenham 5th.

Also in Marches 1, Hereford 2nd returned with a point from a 4-4 draw at Cirencester 2nd who had a player sent off for punching Steve Owen.

Two early goals from Matt Thomas put Hereford ahead but the home side fought back to take the lead.

Stew Goodarzi levelled and then fell behind but Goodarzi equalised again after the sending off.

Ross gained their second straight draw to open their De Cymru and Marches 2 season when they were held 2-2 at home by Llan and Caerphilly.

Jonny Cross opened the scoring for Ross but two short corners helped the visitors to lead at the interval.

After the break, Ross gained their only short corner of the game and Marcus Constance came up from the back to convert.
