ROSS Golf Club's Winter Monthly medal attracted an impressive 117 members and provided the opportunity for eight-handicapper Tim Wyatt to recapture the form that he showed throughout 2012 when he won three of the club's major trophies in singles honours board competitions.

His round brought 11 pars, four birdies and just four shots dropped to par. His gross 72, nett 64 round won him the event by a clear three shots resulting in a two-shot reduction in his handicap to six.

Herefordshire seniors have continued their varied spring programme with a pairs better ball stableford competition using ¾ handicaps. The competition was enjoyed by 68 players in perfect weather conditions for the time of year and with the course in excellent condition resulting in 10 combined scores of 40 plus points.

First place went to Kevin Baylis and Gary Duncalf with 46 points. Greg Brunt and Paul Gosling just edged out Dave Evans and Colin Dean for second spot on count back with both pairs carding 41 points. Fourth place was also decided on count back with John Hodgetts and Jeff Burkin scoring 40 points but with a better back 9 than 6 other pairs.
