RYAN Hotchkiss had to see off the challenge of Kington GC clubmate Jamie Thomas to carry off the Herefordshire Junior Championship at Upper Sapey.

The pair were tied on 77 and played four extra holes to decide the destination of the title with Hotchkiss winning by two shots.

Burghill Valley's Steven Makin was third with a score of 78.

Hotchkiss and Thomas were also members of the Kington squad which carried off the team prize. They were joined by Jamie Herdman who shot 91 to give the trio a total of 245 which was enough to win them the prize by a shot from Burghill Valley.

The nett competition was won by Belmont's Natalya Scase (91-30-61) who took the title by six shots from Burghill Valley's Georgie Sockett (101-34-67) with another Burghill player, Cam Probert, in third with 95-17-68.

Probert took third place on countback from clubmate Liam Williams.
