NATHAN Hodge is set to make his Westfields debut against his former club this Saturday.

The striker scored four goals in a stunning 5-1 win for Shawbury United against Westfields earlier this month.

And now Westfields are hoping he produces that kind of form for his new club as Sean Edwards' side look to catch Alvechurch and Lye in the race for Midland Football League promotion.

“On the day they were excellent against us and if Nathan can do to them what he did to us, then great,” said Edwards.

“Plus we’ve got Aidan Thomas back, who is a threat going forward and Sirdic Grant will be fit by next week.

“We’ve got 22 players now all chomping at the bit and apart from Kane, who is suspended, everyone is fit and available.

“We will have selection headaches, but we will be playing two or three times a week for the rest of the season now.”

Westfields were due to face Coleshill Town this Saturday, but the Warwickshire side are on FA Vase duty.

Therefore, the scheduled Easter Monday against Shawbury was brought forward.

“We are anxious to catch up on our league programme,” said Westfields chief executive Andy Morris.

Last Saturday’s game against Highgate United was called off due to part of the pitch near the dugouts being frozen.

“The backlog just continues, but unfortunately we can’t do anything about the weather,” added Edwards.

“We’ve just got to get on with it and hope we’ve got the squad and everyone available to push on.”

One other new player onboard at allpay.park is midfielder Alex Hainault, who has played in Sweden.

“I was made aware of Alex in the middle of last year and he came training with us,” explained Edwards.

“We’ve had to apply for international clearance for him and he’s an excellent addition to the squad.

“He’s really busy, quick, strong and has got everything we need in the team for the last few months of the season.”
