HEREFORD FC manager Pete Beadle says he won't be taking Alvechurch lightly as the Bulls renew rivalries with the Worcestershire side in the club's first ever FA Cup game this Saturday.

The two teams fought tooth and nail last season in the Midland Football League Premier Division, with Hereford pipping Alvechurch to the title.

"They pushed us really hard last year and I class them as a Southern League team because they are good enough to be there," said Beadle.

"They've had a few changes regarding personnel in the summer, but the staff remain the same, so we will be fully prepared for it.

"With us being a new club, we will have a lot of firsts, and with the nostalgia attached with the old club and their history in the FA Cup, it will be nice to have a little run in it.

"A lot of players want to say they've played in the FA Cup, but like last year, the league is our priority."

Alvechurch counterpart Ian Long said he had a feeling the two sides would be drawn against each other.

"I thought something like this could potentially happen, so it didn't surprise me," he said.

"There was always the chance, while it's localised, that we could come across each other again, but it's a difficult draw for both sides.

"The draw could have been kinder and I don't think they come much harder for us.

"It's the first game for Hereford FC in the FA Cup and they've obviously got the history with the Ronnie Radford goal.

"I'm also a big Manchester United fan and I remember Clayton Blackmore getting the winner down here in 1990 and United went on to lift the FA Cup that season.

"So plenty of memories down there, but it's going to be a really tough game for us."

The winner of the match will be away to either Sporting Khalsa or Romulus in the First Qualifying Round.
