ALVECHURCH'S rearranged game against Sporting Khalsa in the Midland Football League Premier Division is this Friday - meaning Hereford FC have a great chance of winning the league at Edgar Street on Saturday.

The match was due to be played last Saturday, but was called off due to an unplayable pitch.

It means that, should Alvechurch lose against third-placed Khalsa, Hereford will win the league title on Saturday with a home victory over Heanor Town.

And even if the Bulls draw, it will take a mathematical miracle for Alvechurch to win it from thereon in due to Hereford's huge goal difference; likewise if Alvechurch draw this Friday.

If Alvechurch win, then Hereford can still win the title the following day as long as Alvechurch lose at home to Bardon Hill.

If Alvechurch win both matches, Hereford will be crowned champions at Coventry Sphinx on Monday with a victory, as long as they beat Heanor.

Sporting Khalsa - who lost 3-0 at home to Hereford last night - also have two matches in 24 hours.

The Willenhall-based side go to Rushall Olympic tomorrow night in the Walsall Senior Cup.
