JAMIE Cuss believes Pegasus Juniors have the makings of a good team after linking up with his former club.

The Hereford striker is on dual registration terms as he looks to regain his match fitness following a knee injury sustained at the beginning of September.

Cuss scored on his return in a 6-1 West Midlands (Regional) League Premier Division win over Smethwick and played 60 minutes for Anthony Robbins' side.

"I know Robbo and played with Dan Price at Westfields, as well as Carlos Moreira at Hereford," said Cuss.

"They have some very good players, I think they just lack a bit of confidence sometimes.

"But they are set up to be a really good team and Robbo is starting to get everything sorted.

"I think bringing in some young players from Hereford helps because it gives them good experience and helps out Robbo as well."

Cuss injured his anterior cruciate ligament during Hereford's FA Cup match at Romulus and then hurt the medial side of his knee while warming up prior to the HFA County Challenge Cup game against Wellington.

Cuss says his knee 'still gets a bit tight now and again' but getting games at Pegasus is what he needs.

"Playing in games is completely different than training because you have to be mentally switched on as well," said Cuss.

"I had a set back, but I haven't rushed coming back and have worked closely with Pete Beadle and Jonny Evans.

"Even Ryan Green had a word in my ear saying that rushing back will be the worst thing I could do, which is good to hear from an experienced pro."

Liam Jones, another returning player, opened the scoring for Pegasus in the 10th minute before Adam Skeldon equalised for Smethwick eight minutes later.

But Jack Lewis restored Peggy's advantage and Cuss made it 3-1 in the 53rd minute.

Lewis then scored his second goal of the afternoon before Sam Pearson and Tom Bendall added further goals.
