PEGASUS Reserves have withdrawn from the HFA County League Premier Division.

The Old School Lane outfit struggled last season and were initially demoted to Division One.

They were reinstated to the Premier Division following an appeal, but the team have again struggled and were second from bottom before deciding to call it a day.

Pegasus have also been deducted six points this season for failing to fulfil two fixtures and have lost 8-0 and 11-2 respectively in their last two games.

A club statement reads: "Pegasus Juniors have taken the difficult decision to withdraw their reserve team from the HFA County League.

"This follows two occasions where the team was unable to fulfil fixtures due to players making themselves unavailable at short notice along with a lack of commitment in subsequent games.

"The club continues to have a healthy youth section putting out a number of teams each weekend along with our first team.

"We would like to thank the management team of Mark Davies and Steve Wynne for their efforts during a tough season and apologise to the HFA and members of the County League for any inconvenience caused by our withdrawal."

It is unclear whether Pegasus' results will now be expunged.
