- McGrath's deflected free kick in the 14th minute broke the deadlock before Eastleigh were reduced to 10 men
- Andy Boyce saw red in the 32nd minute for being deemed the last man following his foul on Mike Symons
- And then Hereford got the all important second goal through Preen two minutes before half time
- However, Preen had to be stretchered off in the second half
- Eastleigh pulled a goal back in the 78th minute through Callum Howe, but they were reduced to nine men in stoppage time when Gavin Hoyte saw red
